Nanu Oya to Ella

Traveling by train is perhaps the best way to see Sri Lanka.
The railways first introduced in 1864 was primarily used to
transport Tea and Coffee to Colombo by the colonial British
rulers. Today it stands as one of the most scenic journeys to
be done on the rail in the world. Winding through both natural
and man-made wonders such as waterfalls, natural forests,
mountains, pine forests, tea estates, tunnels and bridges,
an array of train tours are available starting from Nanu Oya
Station.

Adisham Bungalow

Wrapped in the tranquillity of the misty hills, Adisham
Bungalow attracts every eye that falls on it. The pages of
history reveal that the creator of this enthralling place is Sir
Thomas Lister Villiers. He was born in 1869 in Adisham, an
ancient village which in the Kent countryside in England.
The Bungalow was built in 1931 and at present house a
monastery of the Saint Benedict sect.

Lipton’s Seat

Lipton’s Seat is located at Dambethenna in the Haputale
Mountain region. This site was a favorite lookout point for
Sir Thomas Lipton a pioneer in the Tea industry. This point
offers a fabulous view over Uva, Southern, Sabaragamuwa,
Central and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka.
